In mid-August 2014, Keegan Consulting Group’s collaborative partner, ProcessOn announced updates to is online diagram platform to include more functionality to further increase the social tools as well as give a brand new look and feel.
Utilizing a free HTML5 diagram designer, ProcessOn’s online diagrammatic tool ensures a fluent and efficient experience allowing the user to create a large array of diagrams utilizing a number of modelling symbols including BPMN, flowcharts, UI wireframes, network diagrams, UML diagrams or any other simple drawing or diagram.
In discussion about the new social network, Mia Su COO of ProcessOn said, “This release is a critical step towards enhancing communications between ProcessOn users (to) establish a professional social network especially for business process users, process mappers and designers. It has changed to offer a comprehensive knowledge library allowing users to share diagrams and their own expertise (creating) a circle to connect with the influencers in one’s field.”
When asked about what would be brought to the network, Mia indicated the several aspects including:
* Redesigned social network
* Brand new look and feel, friendlier interface
* Customized buttons in menu
* Better socializing with other users
* Easier knowledge sharing and collaboration
The new design allows users to easily collaborate with other users within the ecosystem as well as share diagrams with non-ProcessOn users. The unique social networking ability is specifically designed allowing users to connect with other like-minded professionals to share their expertise and knowledge.
The top menu has been redesigned to now include new features and buttons under a pop-up menu are now grouped together with the Homepage, File, Team, User Invitations listed on the left for quick access. A new level of customization has been added allowing users to set their own background.
One of the unique features is the user’s ability to utilize the Tag System allowing users to both tag and follow specialty and interests as well as follow other process professionals. The new Tag System allows users to search and follow areas of interest, find and follow other professionals, including any updates, changes or posts. The onus of the newly designed site is to provide modelers with the ability to share their knowledge and experience with other like-minded professionals.
